H for Hope, H for Haiti

Font Aid IV:
Coming Together, a Collaborative Typeface

The Society of Typographic Aficionados (SOTA) announced the launch of Font Aid IV, a project uniting the typographic and design communities in raising funds to expedite relief efforts in Haiti. Designers from around the world were invited to contribute artwork for a typeface to raise relief funds for Haiti.

My ampersand was based on the form of the letter 'H' which stood for Hope & Haiti.

Rocky & Hanif (+ generous unknown helper) get their hands dirty on a friendly neighbourhood wall with an ampersand. The ampersand a clear inspiration from Herb Lubalin is a character from the classic typeface Pistilli Roman, w
hich they believe will urge people to look at obscure walls in a new light & wonder & then ponder.

They plan to immortalize the entire alphabet thus; may the type & graffiti gods give them the time and courage to do so. Amen!
